The Inner-Landscape

Thoughts - Who am I? Does my life makes sense?

Under the constantly mounting pressure of our modern society, tons of informations in every day news and feeling powerless to change anything in this world, at least can we turn inward, seeking a sense to all of this. Our society leaves little space to one individual.

Therefore, not recognizing myself among its standards, introspection becomes the surest way to self-awareness.

Not so long ago, I identified bruises from the past and I tried to express them trough my drawings and paintings.

Here, in this series, I wish to come at peace with myself and only contemplate my inner-landscape.

Process - Painting as a form of meditation? Act in the instant.

As human beings, we evolve in matter, and events over time bring a lot of marks both on our bodies and on our souls. The sum of experiences moulds the individual. In the same way, I submit my painting to a number of actions in its matter, accumulating layers (collage) then tearing it away, brusing the surface then polishing it over time, each painting being bordered on day by day... At different stages of its realisation, the painting becomes mirror-like, the tool of contemplation.

I chose to stay in the abstract realm brushing against structures of landscape or still-life hoping to initiate a resonant response with the viewer who can then contemplate his own inner-landscape.
