Duality

This new set of painting was born from the desire to integrate a figurative element into an abstract space, leading to an exploration of the connection between a form and its surrounding.

The animal or the bird stands here as an alter-ego of the viewer, its presence allowing an emotional link with rest of the painting, transforming our perception of the abstract space, both the figure and its surrounding being enhanced, revealed by each other.

As a human being, I don’t recognize myself in all these wars and assaults our world endures and in wich we sometimes stand as silent victims. I might not idendify with what surrounds me, but it certainly introduces me to my difference - to know myself better. In this way, the bird poses in the painting, inviting us to contemplate the fragile balance around us.
